Autobiography
Chu-Jen TENG
Building on a solid foundation of professional experience in decorative arts between 1984 and 2007, I have progressively transitioned my practice toward fine arts following advanced training in sculpture.
In 2008, I dedicated my career to sculpture and jewelry design. My artistic journey has been recognized with several awards in national competitions in Taiwan, where I also held a solo exhibition and participated in numerous group shows.
Following a solo exhibition in 2019, and navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I resumed my momentum in 2022 with a solo exhibition and an artist residency as the situation stabilized. I remain actively engaged in the French art scene, organizing solo exhibitions and participating in numerous group exhibitions across Paris and the surrounding region.
Themes of the mother-child relationship and internal states of being are at the heart of my work. Through refined and minimalist forms, I explore human fragility, the essence of legacy, and the timeless bond between humanity and nature.
